Being the early foundation of De Gem Berhad, PYT was incorporated in Malaysia on 25 August 1981 as a private limited company in the name of Thye Loong Goldsmiths & Jewellers Sdn Bhd. Merged with Poh Yik Jeweller on 16 November 1984, the company became Poh Yik Thye Jewellers Sdn Bhd. On 8 January 1996, PYT Gem Trade Sdn Bhd was formed and later changed its name to PYT Jeweller (M) Sdn Bhd on 5 April 2006.
